DAVY JONES
Maintaining his allure as a sexy icon through generations of fans, Davy first invaded teen hearts as the international idol of millions in the 1960's Emmy Award winning television classic "The Monkees". Since then, Jones has triumphed as both a serious actor and a comedian on the theatrical stage.
Back in the late 60's Davy Jones and "The Monkees" were the hottest things on the planet. They amassed a dozen top 40 hits, including a trio of #1 hits. It was all part of a soundtrack to "the Monkees" TV show that sold more records than "The Beetles" and "The Rolling Stones" combined from 1966 through 1968.
FACT: Did you know that "The Monkees" were the first band ever to perform live on the MTV Awards in 1986...Putting to rest that "The Monkees" didn't play instruments or sing!
Prior to "The Monkees" fame, at age 16 Davy Jones was starring on Broadway in the smash hit "Oliver!", for which he earned a Tony Award nomination for his performance in the role of the Artful Dodger.
Over the years "The Monkees" have had some extremely successful reunion tours, of which they hope to do more of in the future. As for Davy Jones, when he's not performing, he can be found on his ranch in Pennsylvania training his thoroughbreds for upcoming races.
